Pelican Lakes Wedding | Windsor Colorado | Sam and Dani

Sam has been one of my good friends since our days in preschool together. Dani is completely out of his league, but the two of them fell in the most beautiful type of love, and participating in this wedding is one of the highlights of my year so far!

We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day at the Pelican Lakes Golf Course in Windsor, Colorado. Although the reception was cancelled due to weather, the evening of June 9th, 2019 will be one I remember fondly for a long time! Dani couldn’t have looked more gorgeous (wait till you see her eyes!), and the joyous laughter of Sam reverberated throughout the reception tent and brought back so many good memories of our childhood together. I’m not afraid to admit I shed a few tears at how beautiful the love of everyone in attendance was. When best man Erik gave a heart wrenching speech, I had a hard time focusing the camera through my tears. It was all more wonderful than expected!

Dani had family fly in from New Zealand, a friend from Germany, and a bunch of other people came from across the world, but the MVP of the weddings was Steve Hardy, the groom’s dad! I heard at least two bridesmaids go on about how in love with him they were. His welcome toast about brought everyone to tears; what a genuine set of people they had gathered together.

I can’t wait to edit the entire wedding, but I may have had a hard time limiting my shutter count because everywhere we looked was another beautiful moment. I’m thankful for my amazing co-workers Ryan and Reid who were shooting alongside me and stayed late as I put my cameras down and enjoyed the dance floor with so many good friends. As I’ve gotten older, I do fewer and fewer weddings for good friends; It seems like most all of my friends are already married, but watching Sam and Dani tie the knot brought an extra smile to my heart. They are so in love and it radiated out of them all day!

The vendors at this did a wonderful job: Trenton with Trebled Entertainment had the whole crowd dancing which is even more impressive because of how great the weather was on Sunday. The flowers I believe were from Palmer Flowers and The cupcakes deserve a special shout out! Nothing Bundt Cakes owner met the groom on a Sunday when they were closed because they forgot to pick them up on Saturday.
